GWAR Announce Shows In Australia And New Zealand August 26, 2010
"We are going to rape the shit out of some hobbits," declared GWAR "singer", Oderus Urungus. "And I don't even care if they are humans dressed up in hobbit costumes, that shit turns me on..."
Traveling to Australia and New Zealand for the first time, GWAR will join punk rock legends NOFX, thrash titans Megadeth, Dropkick Murphys and a host of other bands for the "No Sleep Til" Tour. Check out the full dates to GWAR's"Bloody Tour of Horror", below, and be sure to see GWAR "down under" at the following soon-to-be-blood-drenched locations. If you aren't from there, you'd better get going! NO SLEEP TIL... FESTIVAL AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND: 12/10 - AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND @ ASB SHOWGROUNDS 12/12 - PERTH, AUSTRALIA @ ARENA JOONDALUP 12/15 - ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA @ ADELAIDE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE 12/17 - MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA @ MELBOURNE SHOWGROUDNS 12/18 - SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA @ THE ENTERTAINMENT QUARTER MOORE PARK 12/19 - BRISBANE, NEW ZEALAND @ RNA SHOWGROUNDS In other GWAR news, the boys have just finished up a hugely successful European tour, which included eye-popping performances at the Bloodstock, Summer Breeze, and Sziget festivals, as well as a packed gig in the heart of the Kreuzberg, at Berlin's famous SO36 Club. This followed the completion of tracks for their new album, "GWAR's Bloody Pit of Horror" out this November on Metal Blade Records in the U.S., AFM in Europe, and distributed by King Records in Asia. There is no doubt that as GWAR's 25th Anniversary approaches its halfway point, making the event a two-year celebration was a good idea. "What does time matter, anyway?" said Oderus, reached via carrier-pigeon at the group's Antarctic stronghold. "If things keep going this well, we will add more years as needed...then, when we finally have drained every drop of hype we possibly can from our 25th Anniversary, we will proceed directly to our 50th, which we will celebrate for an indefinite period."
