Houston Set To Release Debut CD In May February 23, 2010
New Swedish melodic rock band Houston is set to release their debut album in May 2010. In the meantime, you can listen to bits and pieces of the upcoming CD at www.myspace.com/houstontheband.
Houston is Hampus "Hank" Erix and Freddie Allen. They were brought together by live-promoter Dave Laroxx (who also works as a club organizer, A&R and DJ in Stockholm) in a joint effort to make a really good Swedish rock record, adjacent to pop music. So-called AOR, Adult-Oriented Rock, was the natural starting point. Among representatives of this style include bands like Foreigner, Survivor, Journey - all with breakthroughs in the beginning of the 80s. This is where Houston has it's roots; in a time when yuppies took aerobics classes listening to Journey's Don't Stop Believin', and when Stallone took on Dolph Lundgren-Russians with the help of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger. And with the powerful aid of many of Sweden's newest rock talents, plus a few legendary ones (wait for it!), this is an album that we know will be something really special...
