VELVET REVOLVER'S SLASH 'TO MENTOR AMERICAN IDOL STARS': April 27, 2009 Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash is to mentor contestants on American Idol. Slash will help the wannabe stars during Rock Week, according to a post on his Twitter micro-blog. He wrote: "American Idol has asked me to do the mentor bit for Rock Week." The former Guns N' Roses guitarist will join a host of stars, including Mariah Carey and Neil Diamond, who have tutored hopefuls on the show.
