NEW FUNNY MONEY ALBUM ALMOST COMPLETE:

July 15, 2006

Well, gang...it's almost ready and I'll be mailing out samplers in the coming weeks to radio/press/labels who are interested in hearing what producer Beau Hill has done with the tracks that will make up the next Funny Money release.

For those who don't know, Steve Whiteman and Jimmy Chalfant, former singer and drummer of Atlantic Records platinum selling, rock-n-roll powerhouse KIX, are no strangers to fans and critics alike. What the world may not know is that when KIX disbanded in 1994, Steve and Jimmy kept moving forward. Without missing a beat, their no-frills, hard rocking party-time rock and roll (read: AC/DC and Aerosmith) is still making waves as an even higher energy, big melody, hard rocking machine called FUNNY MONEY. Lets face it, the signature KIX sound is etched in stone by Steve Whiteman's unique and incredibly strong vocal style and Jimmy Chalfant's tribal, rock-solid hard-rock beat; so if you loved KIX, you'll propose marriage to the huge guitars, precision groove, and harmonic bliss known as FUNNY MONEY!!!

FUNNY MONEY's story dates back to 1996 just two years after the demise of KIX. Steve was not ready to quit rock and roll, so he scouted the local scene for some pro musicians and formed the first stages of FUNNY MONEY. Only one year after playing their local Maryland, D.C., Pennsylvania, and Virginia circuit to packed venues, they released their self-titled, debut album on Kivel Records. It immediately sold over 5,000 copies which sparked a quick repressing. Based on the infectious melodies and rock-n-roll banshee calls of tunes like Pick Me Up, Off My Rocker, and Cant Take the Heat, sales of the debut album are still brisk. Following this no-surprise success, FUNNY MONEY released Back Again, their second smash, to rave reviews. Tracks like their moniker tune Funny Money, Sloppy Kisses, and Resurrection (Back Again) had fans who couldn't travel to their by now legendary high-energy live shows calling for a live tome of these soon-to-be classics. Their call was answered in the form of Even Better Live!, which, along with Back Again, sold 8,000 copies and laid the groundwork for the newest release.

In September of 2003, FUNNY MONEY's latest release, Skin To Skin, broke even more hard ground. Critics have called this album the hardest-rockin FUNNY MONEY CD to date! Fans also get a big surprise from a track called Bad Luck which is a previously unreleased song from the KIX demo vault, recorded here with special guest appearances by Jimmy Chalfant and former KIX guitarist Ronnie Younkins. Although Jimmy Chalfant did not join FUNNY MONEY as their permanent drummer until 2004, he appears on almost half of the albums thirteen tracks alongside former FUNNY MONEY touring drummer Sam Stillwell. This album also introduces the rock solid guitar playing of former CENTERFOLD six-stringer Rob Galpin, who has since, permanently replaced Louis Coppola in the band. With Rob's ruckus loud guitar roaring through his Marshall amps, the band is rounded out by Skin To Skin producer and bottom-feeder bassist Mark Schenker. Together, Steve, Jimmy, Mark and Rob are enjoying their status as a band with one of the biggest selling independent CDs on cdbaby.com, but their biggest footprint is about to land soon. After spending nearly two years writing and rewriting new music, the band has finally completed all the tracks for their new, as of yet untitled album. If further proof be needed that this is the defining FUNNY MONEY collection, the band has enlisted the help of Mega-Hit Producer Beau Hill (RATT, KIX, and dozens more) to further cement their status as one of America's Favorite Rock Bands! Fans are guided to be on the lookout for this killer release by year's end 2006 while still enjoying their current radio airplay on major radio stations throughout the US , including XM and SIRIUS Radio.
