BON JOVI MAKES SURPRISE ENTRY ON COUNTRY CHARTS:

November 25, 2005

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi have hit a Billboard country chart for the first time in their careers, thanks to their recent performance at the Country Music Assn. Awards in New York.

"Who Says You Can't Go Home," a collaboration with Jennifer Nettles of rookie band Sugarland, debuted at No. 48 on the latest Hot Country Songs chart after Bon Jovi and Nettles performed the song at the awards bash.

It's not the first time on the country chart for group principal Jon Bon Jovi, in his other life as a solo artist. In October 1998, "Bang a Drum" went to No. 68. That single was credited to Chris LeDoux (Duet with Jon Bon Jovi).

Bon Jovi has also made the top 10 of the Adult Top 40 list for the first time with "Have a Nice Day," which rose three places to No. 8. Its previous best was "It's My Life," which peaked at No. 11 in October 2000.
