SCOTT WEILAND COURT HEARING POSTPONED:

Velvet Revolver and former Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland had his arraignment postponed from Monday (November 17), to Wednesday (December 3). Weiland was scheduled to be arraigned on charges of driving under the influence of drugs. He was arrested on his birthday, October 27, after crashing his BMW into several parked cars and then attempting to flee the scene.

Weiland is finishing up a court-ordered stay at a live-in detox center, after which he will spend another six months at a residential rehab facility. He was allowed out between November 7 and 17 to complete his vocals for Velvet Revolver's debut album. He will not need to appear at the December 3 hearing, where his lawyer will enter his plea.

Although the official line for months was that Stone Temple Pilots was on "hiatus," bassist Robert DeLeo and guitarist Dean DeLeo confirmed that the group was finished in a new interview with Guitar One magazine.

When asked about his current feelings for Weiland, Dean DeLeo said, "I ran into Scott just recently for the first time in a year...without being involved with one another professionally, we were able to look at each other with an entirely different view. If he and I had been affiliated now, the state of mind he was in the other night when I saw him would have really affected me in a bad way. But it didn't. It's over."
