Released for the first time in it's entirety and painstakingly remixed this year by Paul Sabu, the album is reminiscent of the hard rock stylings of Heart and Melissa Etheridge. The ten songs featured on Among My Souvenirs will appeal to Shania fans and melodic hard rock fans alike. Backed by Paul Sabu, Todd Herreman (Prince) the production is world-class..as fans of SABU have come to know. Mastered by the renowned Arnie Acosta (U2, Pink Floyd, Bonnie Raitt). The Planet Enigma release of Among My Souvenirs is the way this album was meant to be heard...big, rich, and dynamically amazing! 2003 Planet Enigma Records Vixen: The Complete Works Featuring Marty Friedman (Megadeth) $15.98 List In September '81, Hawaii's first heavy metal band VIXEN formed with Kim La Chance on vocals, Jeff Graves-drums, Paul Escorpeso on bass, and then unknown guitar sensation Marty Friedman on guitar (who went on to worldwide acclaim with MEGADETH). Within two months they recorded a 5-track demo featuring Angels From The Dust, Secret Of The Stars, Lady Savage, Living In Sin and a cover of House Of The Rising Sun, made popular by The Animals. By April '82, a second demo was recorded with a new version of Angels From The Dust, Living in Sin, and a new track Escape The Night. Later that year, Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records selected the second version of Angels From The Dust for his compilation album US Metal Vol. II, Unsung Guitar Heroes. VIXEN released another demo containing Angels From The Dust, Living In Sin, Beg For Mercy and Escape The Night. The band went back in the studio and recorded Beg For Mercy, Give It All You Got, Rocking Me Hard, The Young And The Reckless and New Age Rock-n-Roller, the latter never completed with vocals due to the break-up of the band. Several months later in '83, Azra Records released the one side 5-track EP Made In Hawaii containing The Young And The Reckless, Living In Sin, Escape The Night, Rocking Me Hard and Beg For Mercy. This newly re-mastered CD release VIXEN, Complete Works is a must-have for the serious underground and metal enthusiast. It contains both versions of Angels From The Dust and Living In Sin along with the previously unreleased full version of New Age Rock-n-Roller as well as several other previously unreleased tracks, all featuring the legendary Marty Friedman. Track Listing Angels From the Dust New Age Rock-n-Roller (previously unreleased) Living In Sin Escape the Night Beg for Mercy House of the Rising Sun (previously unreleased) Secret of the Stars (previously unreleased) Give it All You Got (previously unreleased) Rocking Me Hard The Young and the Reckless Lady Savage (previously unreleased) Angels From the Dust (original version) (previously unreleased) Living In Sin (original version) (previously unreleased) Distributed worldwide by Planet Enigma Records in conjunction with Pyram-Axis Records Tower Turn the Page $13.98 List PE-72003 Turn the Page, the debut album by the Los Angeles based Tower, sets a high standard among today's new generation of melodic hard rock outfits. Fronted by the critically acclaimed singer Jerry Gabriel (also lead singer on Something to Say, the 2001 release by the legendary Joshua Perahia), Tower serves up a pioneering new sound that's fresh and exciting. Tipping their hats' to the stylings of Queensryche and Whitesnake, the band has put together a collection of majestic anthems and well crafted ballads that showcase the band's consummate songwriting abilities. World-class musicianship highlighted by Jerry's incredible Coverdale-esque vocals makes Turn the Page one of the must have albums of the year. (Note: Watch for the new Joshua Perahia CD later this year on Planet Enigma Records with Jerry Gabriel back at the helm) Track Listing I'd Give You My Life Say a Prayer Love is Not a Sin Rain Take It or Leave It I Wanna Know Why My Heartache Ways Ain't It Sacred Can't You See Doesn't Really Matter Sound Samples on-line soon Distributed worldwide by Planet Enigma Records JRZ System Green House Effect NM-36802 With their latest CD, Greenhouse Effect, JRZ System has recorded an impressive set of instrumentals that will dazzle the ears of those who get excited on the electric guitar-driven compositions of such axe men as Steve Vai and Eric Johnson. Led by the fast but controlled playing of guitarist Mark Zavon and supported by the thundering backbeats of bassman Troy Johnson and drummer Todd Roberson, JRZ System isn't about obsessive noodling. These are great songs performed in the same spirit as Tommy Bolin and Brand X -- from the complex Tropical Cancer to the country-spiced slide guitar of RR #1 to the funky What the Funk. Highly recommended is the cover version of Tommy Bolin's Savannah Woman. Greenhouse Effect -- music without words that speaks volumes quite eloquently. (Note: The three members of JRZ System are also the touring backing band for Stephen Pearcy of Ratt) Track Listing Tropical Cancer Riverside Savannah Woman Floating in a Bowl RR# 1 Polk County Shuffle What the Funk Bonedaddy...Don't Ask Sound Samples on-line soon Distributed worldwide by Planet Enigma Records in conjunction with Novox Music Courtesy of Planet Enigma |
