Review:
I love this album, and according to their bio, the band (which at one time included actor Johnny Depp) could have been on the show Unsolved Mysteries -- a very strange story indeed. This was the group's first recording effort, but it never saw the light of day until the band had long faded from memory. "Teenage Lipstick Boys", "Glitter Queen", "Cinderella In Black" and "Cherry Street" really kick your ass! Throw in an excellent cover of The Doors' "L.A. Woman" and you have the makings for one incredible album.
The Rock City Angels reminds one of the New York Dolls and Hanoi Rocks, implementing what could be called southern glam. These guys looked good, sounded great and wrote catchy tunes -- they should have been famous, but instead just became another rock'n'roll tragedy. I give this glam/sleaze rock classic two thumbs up!
