Review:
Junkyard was a talented quintet whose debut was largely ignored but remains a sleaze classic. Songs like "Hot Rod", "Hollywood" and "Texas" really jam, while "Blooze" is one of the best tributes to alcohol ever recorded. In my opinion vocalist David Roach sounds exactly like Motley Crue's Vince Neil at times.
The sound on Junkyard is a mix of Little Caesar and Jetboy, a blend of blues and punk with straight-ahead hard rock - an unusual mix indeed, but one that works great. Junkyard still performs live every so often, and I hope to hear new material from them in the near future. In the meantime I give this album two thumbs up!
