History:
An extension of the band Giuffria, House Of Lords implemented the same majestic and melodic approach to heavy metal. Their brand of keyboard laced arena rock sold in vast amounts, but an unwillingness to tour proved to kill any initial interest the group had garnered.
When Kiss' Gene Simmons signed Giuffria to his RCA offshoot Simmons Records, he insisted that the group change their name and recommended they replace singer David Glen Eisley. Thus House Of Lords became the last incarnation of Giuffria, simply with a new vocalist. The band was comprised of Gregg Giuffria (keyboards), James Christian (vocals), Lanny Cordola (guitar), Chuck Wright (bass) and Ken Mary (drums).
The debut album, and it's charting single "I Wanna Be Loved", sold reasonably well, but an unwillingness of the band to tour resulted in Cordola quitting in frustration. Michael Guy took over on guitars and they recorded Sahara, an album filled with numerous well-known guest appearances. The record went platinum, but the band split soon after with few live shows being done again.
Giuffria and Christian re-formed to record a new album for the Japanese market with Dennis Chick (guitar), Sean McNabb (another ex-Quiet Riot bassist) and Tommy Aldridge (drums ex-Whitesnake etc) before they disappeared again.
The orginal band reformed in 2002 to begin work on what would become World Upside Down, but by the time of its release Giuffria had already left. By 2006 only Christian remained from the original line-up and was joined by Jimi Bell (guitar), Jeff Kent, (bass) and B.J. Zampa (drums) and for 2008's Come To My Kingdom Chris McCarvill was recruited for bass duties while Kent helped write and produce.
