History:
The Brides Of Destruction made headlines in the new millennium by becoming the latest of several so-called supergroups. Despite their name recognition, the band didn't reach the level of success many were expecting from them.
In late 2002 Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx decided to form a new band named Cockstar with former L.A. Guns guitarists Tracii Guns and Adam Hamilton as well as drummer Kris Kohl (of Adema) and unknown vocalist London LeGrand. Within the first month Hamilton returned to his previous gig and John Corabi, of The Scream, Motley Crue and Ratt fame, was brought in to handle second guitar duties. The bands name quickly changed to Motordog and finally Brides Of Destruction and then Kohl was replaced by Scot Coogan. The band began working on demos and in April of 2003 Corabi left to pursue a solo career.
Having troubles garnering an American licensing deal it appeared as if the Brides Of Destruction may come to an abrupt halt. The debut, which was more or less their demo recordings, was released in Japan in late 2003 and North America in early 2004. It managed to reach the Top 100 in America, but many felt sales were disappointing considering the stars involved, the numerous appearances they made and their mini 'Honeymoon From Hell' tour.
In late 2004 plans for a Motley Crue reunion tour were in full swing and Sixx walked away from his new band. Left to pick up the pieces, the remaining members named Scott Sorry the new bassist and once again added a second guitarist (who lasted just a month) in Wildhearts member Ginger. With a new line-up and a new label the Brides Of Destruction released their second album Runaway Brides that was mainly ignored by the record buying public. Shortly after its release Guns jumped ship to join Quiet Riot and the future of the Brides remains unclear.
