Review:
This is the debut disc from the New Jersey pop metal band that would rule the charts and airwaves later in the decade. Songs such as "Runaway" (the group's first hit single, #39), "Roulette" and "Get Ready" really jam! The other charting single was a ballad called "She Don't Know Me" (#48).
This album, partly produced by Jon's cousin Tony Bongiovi, showed the band at their hungriest. The debut album was just a stepping-stone for Bon Jovi, as two short years later they would become one of the biggest selling bands of the 1980's. Jon Bon Jovi practically wrote the blueprint for big hooked pop metal, and then also helped other hair metal bands such as Cinderella and Skid Row break big. I've liked Bon Jovi for a long time and am glad they sold millions of albums, and continue to put out quality music and tour. Bon Jovi gets two thumbs up!
