History:
Bangalore Choir was a straight ahead metal outfit that only lasted long enough to release one melodic and well
produced album during their heyday. Their moniker was based on the name of a torpedo.
The band was formed in Hollywood by David Reece (vocals, and the man that replaced Udo Dirkschneider
in Accept for one album) and drummer Rusty Gill. Guitarist John Kirk and bassist Danny Greenberg were quickly brought in to round out the group. Eventually Curt Mitchell was added as a second guitarist and Miller was replaced by Derek Thomas of Brunette.
It was this line-up that recorded the band's debut album On Target. The album was produced by Max Norman and featured songs co-written by Jon Bon Jovi and Aldo Nova. But despite the big names
involved, the album sank without a trace. Prior to On Target's release, former Hericane Alice members Ian Mayo (bass) and Jackie Ramos (drums) became the new rhythm section and appeared on the album's artwork.
Upon Bangalore Choir's demise Mayo and Ramos joined Bad Moon Rising with guitarist
Doug Aldrich, and Mayo continued on with Burning Rain. Reece
formed the short-lived Sircle Of Silence before all but disappearing from the
music scene but he would eventually resurface to work with Gypsy Rose and his solo project entitled Reece.
Rumors of a Bangalore Choir reunion surfaced in 2008, but a scheduled reunion show was cancelled and all plans put on hold. Eventually Reece, Mitchell and Greenberg got together once again with Andy Susemihl (guitar) and Hans in't Zandt (drums) to release the comeback CD Cadence in 2010.
