Review:
The only effort from the Arc Angels was a mildly successful collection of blues influenced guitar rock. The single "Living In A Dream" displayed the band's vocal sparring between Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton. It would be the contrasting vocals approaches that made the album so enjoyable. "Paradise Cafe" and "Shape I'm In" jam pretty hard and there is a nice ballad called "Sent By Angels". One of the standout tracks is the ballad "See What Tomorrow Brings", a heartfelt ode to Stevie Ray Vaughan, who perished in a helicopter crash on Aug.27, 1990.
It's interesting to note that the bassist and drummer were at one time part of Stevie Ray Vaughan's rhythm section. The Arc Angels managed to mix blues and hard rock nicely, and the fact that they had (and were) living through the tragedies they sang about made everything so much more believable. I give this album two thumbs up!
